• ResponsibilitiesProcess / Simulation EngineerPlay a vital role in complex engineering projects, with a supporting back ground of management.To help manage a design team of Project / Simulation engineers with specific skills within the Engineering department, to meet functional objectives as well as corporate objectives.Off-line Programming Management support will take on some ownership to manage a design team of Off-line programming engineers with specific skills within the Engineering department, to meet functional objectives as well as corporate objectives.Process/Simulation Engineering Manager is not directly affiliated with project teams, other than ensuring that goals and objectives align with the organization’s overall strategy and vision.As a Process / Simulation Engineer would play a vital role in complex engineering projects core responsibility for:Process EngineeringSimulation EngineeringUse of technical expertise and knowledge of computer simulation technologies:To develop automation concepts for manufacturing systemsTo test the performance, durability, safety and functionality of engineering solutions in a virtual environment.Configure Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) in the simulation softwareDevelop off-line complete robot programs with multiple robot brands (Comau, Kuka, ABB, Fanuc…).Verify the feasibility of solutions and processes.Find and solve issues before the manufacturing phase.Validate the cycle time of each station/line.Optimize robot programs and find solutions in case of cycle time issues.Duties and Responsibilities (these are the position’s essential duties and is not an all-inclusive list)Manage Industrial processes and Robotic application automation projects as assignedFeasibility study and process engineeringDefine the Robotics and Human operation in the 3D environmentEquipment selection (robots, conveyors, tool, etc.)Tool validation to check feasibilityDevelop 3D layout for the robotic simulationPreparing 3D models using CAD software’sDevelop kinematics of 3D modelsWeld/Joint distribution, gun selection, gun sectioningTechnology process path distribution (sealing, arc weld,…)Workout different option and LayoutCycle time estimationValidation of processes in work cells / stationsSimulate Robot moves to verify cycle time, reachability and feasibilityEnsure compliance with safety and ergonomic regulationsVariants analysisDevelopment of robot OLP’s to verify reachability of all process and service positionDevelop robot programs using teach pendant of the major robot brandsDownload a complete offline robot programConfigure Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) in the simulation softwareValidate the cycle defined in the cycle diagramsGenerate a precise evaluation of the cycle time through a detailed cycle simulationOptimize weld distribution to improve the cycle timeGenerate robot safety configurations.Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomics regulations.Apply robot signal logic with SW and VC teamSupport VC team during debug phaseInteracting with stakeholder (Customers, System Engineer, project team) to get project input detailsDevelopment according to customer prescribed documentation and specificationReviews with CustomerDesign review with System Engineer and project teamDevelopment of technical documentation for the projects executedKnowledge Sharing and documentationSupport System Standard department for the standardization of common processes and automation solutionsAs a Process / Simulation Supporting Manager Duties may include:

Provide leadership to the team managed and act as first point of escalationWork closely with the Engineering Projects Team (Project Engineer and System Engineers), to assign resources according to growth plan and competences to achieve better efficiency on Customer Projects.Perform resource planning and monitor saturation.Perform periodical skills mapping of the internal resources to define personal training programs and growth planCoach, mentor and retain best talentStaff Recruitment (Interviews)Staff Performance Appraisals (as assessor or co-assessor)Scout market evolution of the engineering (e.g. new technologies, materials, joining technologies, production processes, competitors and partners best practices) and supplier products. Perform Engineering benchmarking among competitors.Collect, define and propose Engineering Kaizen projects, coordinate with other functions non-Engineering Kaizen projects.Manage NCs of his team to identify systematic issues, main source, etc.Identify and address the inefficiency to make sure that the performance of his function are improved continuously, and also to enhance cross-function integrationEstablish standards and best practices.Develop improvement initiativesProduce functional KPI (Timing, Costs, Quality) and undertake corrective actions at Country level to help the compliance of the organisation’s policies and requirementsAssess Engineering partners competence and performanceCollaborate to certify Engineering partnersParticipate to the Review of the Project Portfolio PerformanceCollaborate to define the make/buy strategy for the Forecast project portfolioCollaborate to define the Strategic Engineering PlanCollaborate to define yearly budget for training, licenses and improvement initiatives.Knowledge and Skills As a Process / Simulation Engineer
