Cost Reduction Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in thermal and electromechanical products, is seeking a Cost Reduction Engineer to join their team. As a Cost Reduction Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Cost Reduction Engineer

Location: York, Pennsylvania

Pay Range: $80,000 - $115,000

What's the Job?

• Identify, develop, and implement material, labor, and warranty cost reduction initiatives across product lines without compromising safety, performance, durability, or compliance.

• Drive measurable savings through value engineering, design-to-cost, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing process improvements.

• Build and manage a pipeline of cost-reduction projects from ideation through analysis, implementation, and sustainment.

• Reduce warranty exposure by eliminating failure modes with design, process, and supplier corrective actions.

• Improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency using Lean, Kaizen, and Toyota Production System principles.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical) or equivalent experience with demonstrated technical depth.

• 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in HVAC or related thermal systems.

• Experience with components/processes such as heat exchangers, sheet metal fabrication, electrical panel layout, and harness routing.

• Ability to perform cost analysis and translate findings into actionable engineering changes.

• Strong CAD capability with proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or Vault.
