IT Helpdesk Engineer - Carlsbad

Salary: $85,000 - 85,000 per year Requirements:

• We require at least 3 years of experience as an MSP or MSSP technician or in a similar role.
• We expect strong Windows administration and troubleshooting skills; macOS support is a plus.
• We look for hands-on experience with the Microsoft cloud stack, including Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• We require experience using a PSA ticketing platform, an RMM tool, and a documentation system.
• We value experience working with managed security technologies such as EDR or MDR, SASE, email security, or SIEM.
• We need a solid understanding of network security basics, including firewalls, VPN and SASE, DNS, and segmentation.
• We expect the ability to follow a formal incident response process and consistently meet SLAs in a fast-paced, multi-client setting.
• We look for excellent communication skills and a strong client service mindset.
• We need the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MS-900, AZ-900, or SC-900 are preferred but not required.
• We require production experience with Entra ID, Intune, and Conditional Access.
• We prefer candidates who have supported Azure Virtual Desktop.
• We require 3 years of managed service provider experience.
• We require the ability to commute to Carlsbad, CA 92008.
• This is an in-person role.

• We answer inbound support phone calls and emails and provide prompt, professional, and personable service.
• We manage tickets through our PSA platform and work to defined SLAs.
• We keep client documentation accurate and up to date in our documentation system.
• We follow established incident response procedures to identify, contain, escalate, and document security events.
• We partner with senior engineers and our SOC on escalations and ongoing improvement efforts.
• We resolve hardware, software, identity, and connectivity issues across multiple client environments.
• We diagnose and fix complex problems involving user accounts, applications, identity, and network access.
• We administer identity, access, and device policies through Entra ID, Intune, and Conditional Access in a cloud-only environment.
• We support Azure Virtual Desktop, including session hosts, user profiles, and the end-user session experience.
• We use RMM tools to monitor, patch, and remediate endpoints across our managed fleet.
• We operate within our managed security stack to help protect client environments.
• We configure and maintain SASE connectivity for remote users and support firewall and network security posture.
• We contribute knowledge base articles that help strengthen the team.

We are a Managed Security Service Provider looking for an experienced Service Desk Engineer to deliver high-level technical support across our client base. This is a client-facing MSP role supporting multiple client organizations in a security-first, fully cloud environment with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop, and no on-premises infrastructure.
