Candidates selected may be asked to teach a variety of courses in the program, including, but not limited to, literacy, STEM, social justice in education, classroom management, family communication, and clinical practice supervision, with a strong emphasis on play‑based strategies and developmentally appropriate practices. Minimum Qualifications: A M.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or equivalent is required. Minimum of three years of highly successful teaching experience in P‑3 grades. Have a valid California Teaching Credential, Child Development Preschool Site Supervisor Permit, or equivalent from another state. An authorization to teach English learners (CLAD, BCLAD, etc). Prior experience in teacher supervision or in mentoring teachers. Detailed knowledge of the California Teacher Performance Expectations for PK‑3. Detailed knowledge of the California Content Standards for all subjects. California driver’s license and transportation to get to the assigned schools. Able to maintain positive relationships with adult learners, school administrators, and teachers. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to speak, read, and write a second language. Administrative experience at a school site. Training on the California Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA). Five years of teaching experience, preferably in various PK‑3 grade levels. Experience delivering teacher training, including modeling lessons for teachers. Prior higher education experience in teacher preparation or coursework development. Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full‑time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
