Citadel Security USA is looking for a dependable Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Glenwood Springs. The officer will help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment through regular observation, professional interaction, and timely communication of security concerns. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with the public, pays close attention to their surroundings, and can handle routine security responsibilities with professionalism and sound judgment.

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Employment Type: Part-Time Pay: $18.50 per hour Schedule Friday | 9:15 AM - 5:15 PM Saturday | 10:15 AM - 5:15 PM Sunday | 1:15 PM - 5:15 PM

Responsibilities

• Security Presence & Monitoring
• Maintain a professional and approachable security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated locations.
• Observe activity and recognize conditions that may create a safety or security concern.
• Identify disruptive behavior, suspicious activity, property concerns, or potential hazards.
• Communicate significant concerns to supervisors or designated contacts.

• Walkthroughs & Property Checks
• Perform routine walkthroughs of assigned areas throughout the shift.
• Check doors, access points, public areas, and designated spaces for unusual conditions.
• Identify maintenance or safety concerns that require attention.
• Assist with maintaining orderly conditions in areas used by visitors and employees.
• Follow established patrol procedures and location-specific instructions.

• Public Interaction
• Greet visitors and provide courteous assistance when appropriate.
• Answer basic questions or direct individuals to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain respectful communication with visitors, employees, vendors, and other members of the public.
• Help encourage compliance with established rules through professionalism and clear communication.
• Use calm, respectful communication when addressing concerns or disagreements.

• Incident Response
• Respond to security, safety, or behavioral concerns in accordance with established procedures.
• Assess situations and determine when supervisors or emergency services should be contacted.
• Remain composed when unexpected situations arise.
• Follow company policies, post orders, and applicable response procedures.

• Documentation
• Complete daily activity logs accurately and on time.
• Prepare incident reports when required.
• Record unusual events, safety concerns, security issues, and other relevant observations.
• Provide clear information during shift changes or when communicating with supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

Required

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work the scheduled Friday through Sunday shifts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to remain attentive during extended periods of routine activity.
• Ability to work independently while following established instructions.
• Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm during unexpected situations.
• Ability to successfully complete required company screening and onboarding.

Preferred

• Previous security experience.
• Customer service, hospitality, or other public-facing experience.
• Experience working in a community-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with activity logs and incident reporting.
• Previous experience using verbal de-escalation or conflict-resolution techniques.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to perform routine walkthroughs throughout the assigned property.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.
• Ability to remain alert and observant throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to perform duties in varying weather conditions during exterior activities.
