This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.ResponsibilitiesThe following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.Perform complex receiving, in-process, source, and final inspection of machined parts, electromechanical assemblies, and special-process product against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Interpret complex engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.Operate precision inspection equipment, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM), optical comparators, height gauges, and surface-finish instruments.Plan and complete first article inspections (FAI) and prepare FAI reports in accordance with AS9102.Initiate and document nonconformance reports (NCR), accurately characterize defects, and support material review board (MRB) activities.Verify special-process and outside-processing certifications (for example, heat treat, plating, welding, and conformal coat) against applicable specifications.Review inspection and measurement data for completeness and accuracy and ensure proper retention of quality records.Provide work direction, training, and technical guidance to Quality Inspector I personnel.Support internal audits, calibration control, FOD, and ESD (ANSI/ESD S20.20) program requirements.Adhere to all quality, safety, ITAR/EAR, and environmental requirements applicable to the work area.Required QualificationsThe following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in a related field preferred.3 to 5 years of inspection experience, including 2 or more years in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment.Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including CMM and optical comparators.Working knowledge of first article inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements.Experience documenting nonconformances and supporting root-cause and corrective-action activities.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Preferred QualificationsASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification.Experience with CMM programming and software (for example, PC DMIS or Calypso).Familiarity with AS9100, MRB processes, and customer-specific quality requirements.Experience inspecting electronic, battery, or fuel cell assemblies.Edge Autonomy BenefitsMatching 401(k)Paid PTOPaid holidaysMedical, vision, and dental insuranceGroup Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityHSA and FSA OptionsCritical Care PlanAccident Care PlanClearance RequirementsThis position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and/or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR"). Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment.
