Registered Nurse (RN) - TelemetryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a telemetry unit. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing exceptional care to patients with various cardiac conditions.Position InformationRole: Registered Nurse - TelemetryShift: 3x12, NightsWeekly Guaranteed Hours: 36Call Requirements: Not requiredQualificationsCurrent NV RN license required prior to start.Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS (APEX).Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips.Unit DescriptionThis telemetry unit is a 38-bed facility staffed with RNs, CNAs, Critical Care Techs (CCTs), and Advanced Care Techs (ACTs). The patient-to-nurse ratios are typically between 1:4 to 1:6, depending on patient acuity and workload. CCTs monitor ECG rhythms on all telemetry patients 24/7, while ACTs assist with various tasks, including transport, admissions, discharges, IV and Foley insertions, activities of daily living (ADLs), and limited medication administration.The patient population includes treatment for:Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)Alcohol WithdrawalNon-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarctions (NSTEMIs)SepsisDysrhythmiasPneumonia (PNA)Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)Post-procedure patients, including those with pacemakers, ablations, and cath lab proceduresOpen Heart Surgery (OHS) patients once downgraded from ICUMedications administered include non-titratable cardiac medication drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, and others.Additional InformationTravel may be required to meet organizational needs, up to the competency level of the RN. Flexibility is necessary, as staff may be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during each scheduling period (every 4 weeks).
