Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Tele

Position Information:

Shift: 3x12, Nights

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Call Requirements: None

Licenses: NV RN license required prior to start

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS. Must pass a telemetry competency exam to identify and measure telemetry rhythm strips.

Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years Med Surg/Tele experience. Prior travel experience of one 13-week assignment is required.

Additional Comments:

• Travelers may be required to float to meet organizational needs, up to their competency level.
• One additional shift may be required during the scheduled period.
• Low census may lead to call-off without penalty, with a 48-hour notice possible for full or partial shifts during the 13-week contract.
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some additional shifts based on departmental needs.

Purpose:

This position focuses on providing optimal patient care by utilizing comprehensive nursing knowledge and skills throughout the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for patient outcomes across the entire episode of care, delivering nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, along with their families and caregivers.

Nature and Scope:

The role involves diagnosing and treating human responses to health issues. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and their families. The caregiver must demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the patient population served. The position entails a scientific knowledge base and ongoing learning to meet quality standards and competency requirements specific to age. The involvement of family members or significant others during assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation is emphasized. Coordination of patient care with other professionals is required, necessitating significant mental effort in both patient care and interactions with internal and external contacts, while exercising sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
