CalPERS seeks an Analyst I in the Member Account Management Division (MAMD), Service Credit Purchase and Elections Section (SCPE), Account Maintenance Team.

The Account Maintenance Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Reviewing, correcting, and maintaining Service Credit Purchase records, receivables, and accounts
  • Investigating, analyzing, and resolving difficult and sensitive cases and issues, including, but not limited to, participant requests for balances owed on their account, payroll deduction records, documents associated to a participant’s account, and other significant data 
  • Responding to inquiries (i.e.: telephone, Workflow inquiries, etc.) from members and employers of a difficult and sensitive nature and escalates to designated staff when appropriate
  • Preparing written recommendations, correspondence, issuing memos, and program area requests, etc., for management review to resolve eligibility issues and/or interest charges related to service credit purchases
  • Interpreting, explaining, and communicating policies, procedures, and laws, verbally and in writing, to various levels of the organization, and external customers.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.

Statement of Qualifications

  1. Provide an example of when you successfully prioritized multiple tasks and resources to achieve a positive outcome for a customer. What strategies did you use to communicate with the customer and manage competing priorities?
  2. Provide an example of when you had to research and apply laws, regulations, or policies to resolve a complex issue. What actions did you take that contributed to the successful outcome for your division or agency?
  3. Describe your experience with reviewing procedural documents, policies, or correspondence that required research and technical accuracy. How did you ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with established guidelines or legislative changes? Explain how your work impacted internal processes or supported external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications

All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position.   • Proficient in using Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Accurint databases).
