Business Development Partner — Pharma Analytics & AI Consulting (Commission-based)

We are an independent consulting practice in Pharma Commercial analytics, AI product strategy, and design thinking. The practice is built on 30+ years of work across Technology and Analytics consulting firms - leading consulting engagements with Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 firms.

We deliver well. What we don’t yet have is someone who owns origination.

The Role

This is a founding commercial role. You open doors with commercial, medical affairs, and R&D leaders at pharmaceutical companies, qualify the opportunity, and run the deal through to close alongside the founder. You will not be handed a pipeline — you are here to build one.

What you’d own:

• Originating and qualifying new consulting opportunities in pharma and life sciences
• Running the commercial conversation end to end, with the founder joining for technical depth
• Shaping proposals and scoping alongside delivery, so what we sell is what we can profitably deliver
• Building the account list that becomes the practice’s book of business.

Compensation — stated plainly

This is an independent contractor engagement, and the first year is commission-only. There is no base salary in year one. We’d rather say that here than waste your time in a first call.

• 15–20% of first-engagement contract value, paid on client collection
• 7–10% trail on all follow-on work from your accounts, for 24 months
• Non-exclusive — you may carry other lines, and we expect you will
• Named-account registration with a 90-day window, so there is no ambiguity about who owns a lead

On hitting agreed revenue and pipeline targets at month twelve, the engagement converts to a salaried Client Partner role: base plus variable, with customer success and account expansion added to the remit. These conversion terms are written into the original agreement with objective triggers — not promised verbally and settled later.

Who this fits

• Existing relationships with decision-makers at pharma companies, in commercial, medical affairs or R&D
• A track record originating consulting or analytics engagements, not just managing accounts handed to you
• Comfortable holding a substantive conversation about analytics and AI products without the founder in the room
• Likely background: business development or client partner roles at ZS Associates, Axtria, IQVIA, Indegene, Beghou, Trinity Life Sciences, Fractal or similar — or a senior operator now consulting independently

Who this does not fit

Anyone who needs leads supplied or predictable income over the next twelve months. The structure is designed for someone with an existing network and other income sources who wants significant upside on relationships they have already built.
