Providing nutritional and environmental support./liliAssist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client./liliPosition the client when instructed to do so./liliAssist with certain treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor./liliRemind the client to take medications./liliAssist with payment of bills only when authorized to do so and it is documented on the assignment sheet./liliRun errands when authorized to do so. Documentation on the aide charting sheet daily./liliReport any important information or changes in the clients condition to the agency and/or the nursing supervisor when necessary./liliUse of medical supplies and equipment when appropriate./liliEmotional support and the development of a trusting relationship between the aide and the client./liliEncouragement of client independence./li/ulh3Qualifications/Education/h3p Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older./pp Must have a certificate from a home health aide training program consistent with state requirements with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate./pp Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the clients family and agency personnel./pp Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled./ph3A Home Health Aide Must/h3p Get along well with others./pp Be dependable and trustworthy./pp Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures./pp Maintain in-service requirements as specified in state and agency regulations./pp Be a good listener, exhibit empathy for the sick, disabled and elderly, and be sensitive to the feelings of others./pp Be neatly dressed and have good personal hygiene habits./pp Maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams./pp Wear an identification badge while working./ph3Functional Abilities/h3p Able to lift, turn and transfer clients./pp Able to lift up to 50 pounds./pp Must be able to stoop and bend./pp Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication./pp Able to verbalize so that the average person can understand./pp Provide direct care according to the established client plan of care./pp Carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction of the nursing supervisor./ph3Work Environment/h3p Regular exposure to client elements and occasional stress./ppThe hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
