Job Summary

The Phlebotomist III – Floater serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality blood specimen collections and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently across various Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician office locations. The successful candidate will maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, clinical, and forensic specimen collections following established procedures.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Verify patient identification, demographics, and obtain required patient signatures.
• Ensure specimens are accurately labeled in the patient's presence.
• Maintain all required documentation and records in compliance with company policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and create a comfortable, professional environment for patients.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Support multiple Patient Service Centers and physician office locations as business needs require.
• Adhere to safety, confidentiality, compliance, and quality assurance standards.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image of the organization.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
• Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections required.
• Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
• Data entry and keyboarding experience preferred.
