Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition.
• Help build a maintenance program that optimizes the plant's uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines.
• Complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment, and document the work done without direct supervision.
• Monitor equipment to ensure it is kept in good working order, working closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed.
• Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation.
• Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery.
• Apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility.
• Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a neat and clean working area throughout the day.
• Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
• Read and interpret electric diagrams.
• Perform other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
• Punctuality and reliability are a must.
• Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills/Physical Demands

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
• Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
