Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Schedule Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am; OT as needed. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $31–$34+/hour (based on experience) + $1.50/night shift premium. Overtime: 1.5× pay for hours over 40 per week. 401(k): Dollar-for-dollar match up to 8%. Responsibilities Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance per defined schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic database; provide action plans and status reports as needed. Respond to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions which may be reported during off‑hours. Ensure that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Perform machine‑shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, MIG/TIG/stick welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment (e.g., chop saw), pneumatic tools, and electric/manual hand tools. Perform welding fabrication (both stick and gas) in various locations and positions including pipe and structural on various metals for new and existing equipment. Properly care for and clean tools, parts, materials, and work area. Provide coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians. Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High level of experience and proficiency in the function, mechanics, and operation of all Maintenance equipment. Computer and Software knowledge. Ability to work well with others and be self‑motivated. Strong mechanical skills. Strong attendance and safety record. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility. Ability to safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job functions (extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying, and squatting). 1–3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Work on and around machinery for extended periods. Use hands, arms, and tools for electrical troubleshooting and repair. Perform tasks in a fast‑paced production environment.
