Tech - Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role supports infection control standards and maintains a sterile environment to facilitate safe patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Sort, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and medical devices.
• Operate sterilization equipment following established protocols.
• Maintain documentation of sterilization processes and equipment logs.
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards in all tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clinical staff regarding instrument sterilization and availability.
• Follow guidelines based on ANSIA/AAMI, AORN, and Title 22 standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• Demonstrate ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and push/pull carts.
• Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Be knowledgeable of sterile processing standards and safety protocols.
• Maintain current certification and licensure as required.
