Shift Monday- Friday 8-5 (37.5 hours/week), time may vary depending on Lab needs. Job Summary The technician will work on the project "Understanding West Nile Virus Transmission Dynamics in Kentucky." Duties include field collections of mosquitoes, taxonomic and molecular identification of mosquitoes, molecular detection of WNV in mosquitoes, and data analysis. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Interest in entomology; molecular biology skills, including extraction and PCR. Driver’s License required. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related field preferred. An associate degree in a related field will be accepted. Candidates who have completed all degree requirements and are awaiting graduation will also be considered.
