CVS Health has an exciting opportunity in Mount Prospect, IL for a Pharmacy Technician to be a part of our Mail Order Pharmacy team! A Pharmacy Technician is essential to ensuring patients receive their medications in a timely manner.

As part of the team, you will have an important, uniquely rewarding role putting your Pharmacy Technician skills and experience to work in a closed-door pharmacy setting. You will make a difference by excelling in a complex, high impact dispensing role positively impacting the lives of others. You will collaborate with a team of talented individuals in a concerted team effort under the direct supervision of Team Leads and Pharmacy Supervisors.

The ideal candidate will possess high elevated levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, team orientation, and critical thinking skills.

Position Summary:

As a pharmacy technician you will be responsible for many aspects of the mail order prescription process. You may be assigned to work all areas of the dispensing pharmacy including product selection, packing and shipping. Tech L1, Dispensing team members are expected to perform any of the following functions: manual filling and packing, fill medications for automated machines, Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine, packing orders using automated packing machinery. As a Tech L1 you may be asked to support the shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you must possess basic computer proficiency and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. This position requires standing throughout the entire shift. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction across all levels of staff.

Success in this role also depends on demonstrating a high degree of reliability, professionalism, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have an ACTIVE Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) or be willing to obtain one and, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA required for all those licensed after 2008. Newly licensed Technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their certification.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED required, Ability to speak, read, and understand English. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to reach/twist/turn/bend/stoop/walk and lift up to 40 pounds. Detail focused and task orientated. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Regular and predictable attendance. Work mandatory overtime when needed based on business needs. Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience
• Experience working in a Mail Order Pharmacy Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024

Education:

• Verifiable high school diploma or GED required

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $17.00 - $31.30

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
