Medical Laboratory Scientist - Casual

The ChristianaCare Laboratory located on the Cecil campus in Elkton, MD, is currently recruiting for a Casual Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician on an as needed basis. The work hours could be evening shift (3pm - 11:30pm) or night shift (11pm - 7:30am). Responsibilities Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual. Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures. Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary. Adheres to all turnaround times, documents calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification. Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner. Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary. Performs assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices. Performs other related duties as instructed. Requirements BS Medical Technology or BS in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Associate degree in medical laboratory technology. Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science. Completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician). ASCP (MLT) certification preferred. Hourly Pay Range: $29.22 - $43.83 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
