Mfg Operator Assistant

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified applicants to fill an immediate opening for an Operator Assistant in their Metallizing manufacturing facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia. This person will work in a team environment, assist on the production floor as needed, and must be willing to cross‑train to provide coverage in other job functions and prepare for future advancement opportunities. Benefits Health coverage available after 30 days of employment 401k enrollment with 5% contribution, 100% vested from first day of employment Life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability Paid time off accrual in first year of employment and sell‑back option 10 paid holidays Subsidies for uniforms, safety shoes, safety glasses Associate discount program Telemedicine & virtual primary care Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Pet insurance Legal insurance and more Work Schedule: 3/2 rotation Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed Hourly Pay Range: $18.14 - $27.20 plus night shift premium ($2.50 per hour) Performance Evaluation after 120-day probation (includes) Safety Job performance Technical abilities Attendance Teamwork Initiative Minimum Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Forklift certification preferred but training will be provided Ability to judge distances while operating heavy equipment Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to perform basic data entry Self‑directed and able to multitask Ability to read a tape measure Ability to work in a team environment Ability to lift objects weighing at least 60 pounds Must cross‑train into other job functions and fill in as needed Good work history and safety record Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check Internal Applicants Must have been in current position for at least 120 days Must not be on probation or a performance improvement plan Must not have received disciplinary action above a verbal warning within last 120 days Must have received at least a Performer rating on last review Resume required for further consideration Key Responsibilities Work safely and follow all safety guidelines Assist and take instructions from the operator to operate equipment and meet production goals Cross‑train as operator and run equipment as needs arise Ensure quality product is being run during one's shift Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area that meets AIB requirements throughout shift Learn the computer system for data entry Operate overhead crane in automatic mode and perform roll changes safely, productively, and timely Operate a forklift as needed Participate as a team member on plant process teams Assist on other equipment or functions as needed Review and understand all related ISO work instructions Complete daily checklists Track waste on each roll produced and report to operator Review job jacket with operator at the beginning of each job and ensure correct material is run for customer Perform scheduled vacuum maintenance Cut samples for lab testing Use Beloit meter to check quality of raw materials and WIP Perform other job functions as assigned Printpack is proudly an equal‑opportunity employer.
