Accounting Manager

Our client, a fast-growing, technology-driven platform and marketplace, is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager to play a critical role in scaling a high-growth, venture-backed business. This is a hands‑on opportunity to own the accounting function, partner closely with senior leadership, and help bring rigor, clarity, and automation to a complex marketplace model. The role reports to the SVP of Finance & Operations and offers meaningful exposure to strategic planning, fundraising, and long‑term growth initiatives. What You’ll Do Own the accounting function for a marketplace business, including monthly and quarterly close and performance vs. budget Ensure GAAP compliance, including revenue recognition for an online marketplace, and maintain audit readiness Review, improve, and automate accounting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely payments, proper categorization, and visibility into expense trends Support financial operations including payroll oversight and marketplace payments/payouts Assist with treasury management, ensuring operating and investment accounts are appropriately funded Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning Gain exposure to annual planning, fundraising, and potential M&A initiatives What We’re Looking For 4+ years of experience in an accounting role CPA required Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition, ideally within a marketplace or ecommerce business Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma) a plus Big 4 and/or startup experience strongly preferred Comfortable operating independently as a subject matter expert Curious, process-oriented, and eager to improve systems and workflows Excited by fast‑paced, ambiguous startup environments Interest in AI‑enabled tools and modern finance technology is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
