RN Nurse Extern

Overview Nurse Extern opportunities with Morgan Medical Center. MMC is looking for recent graduates or soon to be graduates to join our nursing extern program. The nurse externs will work on the med‑surg floor under direct supervision of an RN to provide direct patient care. Externals will have the opportunity to experience MMC’s patient‑focused culture, develop critical thinking, assessment, diagnosis skills, outcomes identification, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. This position transitions to a Full‑Time RN position when a GA RN license is acquired. Responsibilities Work on the med‑surg floor under the direct supervision of an RN. Provide direct patient care. Solidify critical thinking skills, assessment and diagnosis skills, outcomes identification, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Observe patient advocacy, performance improvement, leadership, and professional development in practice. Requirements Currently a senior year student in an accredited nursing program. New graduate of an accredited ASN or BSN program. AHA BLS required; ACLS can be acquired while employed.
