Role Description This full-time, on-site Workers’ Compensation Attorney role is based in Greater Orlando. The attorney will manage a caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution, including conducting client interviews, developing case strategies, and providing ongoing case assessments. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement documents; appearing at depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials; and communicating regularly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel. The role also involves analyzing medical records, evaluating exposure and risk, advising clients on litigation options, and ensuring compliance with applicable Florida workers’ compensation laws and procedural rules. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver efficient, high-quality legal services. Qualifications Active membership in the Florida Bar and good standing, with demonstrated experience or strong interest in workers’ compensation or insurance defense. Solid litigation skills, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials. Strong analytical and case evaluation abilities, particularly in reviewing medical records, assessing liability and damages, and developing strategic case plans. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, claims professionals, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with legal practice management and document management software; comfort using standard office and courtroom technology. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; prior workers’ compensation or broader insurance defense experience is strongly preferred.
