Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years of clinical experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Two years of acute care RN experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are a priority. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is fundamental. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. Focus is placed on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is also a key responsibility. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Education is appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during the stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor. Demonstrates and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
