Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby at a teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of L&D/post-partum experience and MN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, primarily in post-partum care within the Labor and Delivery unit
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
• 3x12 shifts available in Day (0700-1930) or Night (1900-0730) rotations
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Epic (Excellian) charting system used

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery with post-partum experience required
• Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement and calibration, Pitocin administration, and sterile vaginal exams required
• Experience with pain management, epidural anesthesia, and nitrous oxide preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Date of birth, SSN, and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Acute care teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds
• Provide care for mothers and newborns including antepartum, labor and delivery, and post-partum services
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• No parking fees at this facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 months to be eligible
