PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – CONFECTIONERY MANUFACTURING

Location: South Bay Area, Los Angeles County
Salary: $80,000–$115,000 annually, depending on experience
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Early-morning or afternoon/evening shift; frequent Saturday availability required

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for a manufacturer of premium craft chocolates, salted caramels, chocolate barks, marshmallows, and other confections.

We are looking for more than someone who simply maintains the daily operation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who takes ownership, identifies what needs to be done, develops employees, solves problems, holds the team accountable, and produces measurable results.

This position offers growth potential for someone who is preparing to advance into a Plant Manager or similar higher-level leadership role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct daily production activities and supervise production employees.
• Ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
• Plan staffing and labor according to production schedules and daily requirements.
• Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, quality, and productivity.
• Monitor production output, waste, downtime, labor efficiency, and other operational KPIs.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, quality, and cost.
• Train, coach, and develop employees and future team leaders.
• Coordinate with Quality, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments.
• Assist with production planning, scheduling, maintenance coordination, and continuous-improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, food-safety procedures, allergen controls, sanitation requirements, and company policies.
• Take on responsibilities beyond routine shift supervision in preparation for future advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Approximately 3–6 years of solid production-supervisory experience with a strong educational background, or approximately 4–8 years of relevant supervisory experience without a degree.
• Stable work history with established manufacturing companies.
• Experience supervising a sizable production workforce.
• Demonstrated success improving productivity, waste, downtime, labor efficiency, quality, or employee performance.
• Experience with production scheduling, labor planning, KPIs, employee development, and cross-functional projects.
• Confectionery, chocolate, bakery, snack, or related manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, allergen controls, sanitation, and food-safety practices is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in operations, business, food science, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required with sufficient relevant experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Must be flexible to work early-morning or afternoon/evening hours and frequent Saturdays.
