Point of Care Coordinator - PT - Days - MHM

CO045 Memorial Hospital Miramar

Location: Miramar, Florida Job Summary The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of point‑of‑care testing across multiple laboratory and clinic locations. The role provides technical resources, daily direction to nurses and other healthcare providers, and ensures quality testing through training, equipment monitoring, quality control, and competency assessment. Responsibilities Provide technical oversight for point‑of‑care testing to meet and exceed accreditation standards. Assist with maintaining inventory and supplies for point‑of‑care testing. Work and communicate with nursing staff, physicians, employees, and management as needed. Ensure test systems are properly functioning; maintain, troubleshoot, and take corrective action with equipment. Coordinate training assessments and develop teaching/training materials. Develop and oversee validation/verification studies for new instruments, methods, and tests. Coordinate competency assessment and develop competency materials. Review quality control for problem identification and troubleshooting, using control statistics and proficiency testing. Manage oversight of point‑of‑care testing (POCT) for all POCT instruments in the area. Qualifications Five (5) or more years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. State of Florida license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor. Experience as a generalist laboratory professional preferred. Ability to operate under minimal supervision and in a stressful environment. Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and effective communication with internal and external customers. Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and laboratory information systems. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree (required). Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License (FL) or Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (FL). Florida State License as a Technologist or Supervisor in the area of responsibility.
