Contract Details Location: Peace Hospital, 2020 Newburg Rd., Louisville, KY 40205. Shift: Night Shift. Contract length: 13 weeks (up to two contracts). Expected start date: ASAP. Premium pay: $63 per hour for day shift and $67 per hour for nights. Benefits Eligible benefits start at $159 per month. Responsibilities Conduct systematic, continuous and comprehensive assessments of patient health status from admission or encounter to discharge across the care continuum to ensure patient safety and collaborate with the healthcare team, patient and family. Administer medications independently per licensure authority, assess and reassess medication effects, and document administration in a timely manner per policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines. Plan care with current scientific knowledge, theory, and care standards within the nursing interventions and outcomes framework and national patient safety goals; construct individualized, age‑specific plans for optimal patient and family outcomes appropriate to the practice setting. Incorporate data from the multidisciplinary care team into the plan of care to assure continuity and appropriate patient teaching. Identify and prioritize patient problems based on assessment data, patient safety considerations, patient and family goals and preferences, and nursing interventions and the medical plan of care. Implement nursing care interventions to meet patient and family centered health‑care needs; demonstrate competent skills, clinical judgments, and chain of command to promote patient safety and reach planned care goals and outcomes. Assess, conduct, and evaluate outcomes of patient and family teaching from admission or episode of care to discharge, reflecting sensitivity to age, learning needs, and cultural background. Perform regular and systematic reviews of patient/family responses to interventions, revise the multidisciplinary plan of care in collaboration with other team members to promote desired outcomes, recognize care variances and intervene to prevent adverse events. Serve as an advocate for the patient and family, demonstrating respect for their rights and preferences; prepare the patient and family for discharge and obtain feedback to promote positive patient satisfaction outcomes. Collaborate, monitor, and delegate with unlicensed assistive healthcare providers per regulatory and legal requirements to assure safe patient care delivery. Demonstrate professional conduct and appearance; orient new members of the healthcare team and supervise students in the performance of assigned duties. Act in the role of relief charge nurse when unit needs arise. Maintain professional competency through continuing education, ongoing competency demonstration, licensure and professional activities; participate in evidence‑based practice activities such as journal clubs and discuss outcomes of care with colleagues. Actively participate as a collaborative member of the healthcare team, communicate constructively using core behavioral standards, identify clinical and interdepartmental problems, and resolve conflicts appropriately. Perform duties in a cost‑effective manner, striving to avoid waste of hospital resources without jeopardizing quality of care and service. Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct; comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (required). All new‑hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one year of hire and complete it within three years of hire (required). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (preferred). Experience All new RN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and must successfully complete all activities (required). Two years of hospital patient care experience (preferred). Licensure Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required). Certifications Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas).
