Job Title Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (IMC/PCU) Location Asheville, North Carolina Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit serving patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation) Manage and titrate cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics Operate unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners within a Cerner EMR environment Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with stretch staffing up to 1:5 as needed Assist with or perform bedside cardioversion procedures Float to MedSurg, Stepdown, and ER holding units as needed Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of stepdown or progressive care (PCU) experience Telemetry experience required Demonstrated experience with titratable and cardiac IV medications Current BLS and ACLS certifications Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with prostacyclin therapies (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) Relief charge nurse experience Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a specialized cardiac step-down environment within a well-established heart center Collaborative team culture that values flexibility, compassion, and strong teamwork Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 774451.
