Senior AI Application Engineer

To support the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior AI Application Engineer will design, develop, and implement enterprise AI solutions remotely, focusing on AI-assisted search and summarization capabilities using advanced technologies such as Large Language Models and Amazon Bedrock. Key responsibilities: Design and implement enterprise AI applications utilizing Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation Develop AI-assisted search and summarization capabilities while ensuring compliance with Federal security and privacy requirements Integrate AI capabilities into existing healthcare applications and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the software development lifecycle Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience developing enterprise software applications, with 5+ years in cloud-native development utilizing AWS or comparable platforms Demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI solutions Experience with Amazon Bedrock or similar enterprise AI platforms and developing enterprise REST APIs Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#
