• Lead the instructional, research-support, and faculty engagement functions of the library while assisting the Director of Library Services in achieving departmental goals and supporting library operations district-wide.

• Reports to: Director of Library Services 
• Principal Working Relationships: Library staff, faculty, students, student development division staff.
• Supervises: Library student/hourly workers.

1. Serve as the library's primary information literacy specialist by designing, delivering, and assessing information literacy instruction in partnership with faculty across the curriculum.
2. Coordinate and continuously improve the Embedded Librarian Program, including developing program practices, supporting faculty partnerships, and assessing program effectiveness.
3. Develop, maintain, and evaluate library research guides (LibGuides) to support instructional programs and student research needs.
4. Serve as the primary faculty liaison for collection development and provide recommendations regarding acquisitions, licensing, retention, and deselection of library materials for Director review and approval.
5. Collect, analyze, maintain, and prepare library usage, instruction, and circulation data to support departmental assessment, service improvements, strategic planning, and required reporting activities.
6. Provide frontline professional support for library technologies, electronic resources, Makerspace programming, and streaming media services, including assisting users, troubleshooting routine issues, and referring system-level concerns to the Director and appropriate technical personnel.
7. Implement established procedures for the retrieval of delinquent library materials, including placing and removing restrictions on student records and communicating with students regarding outstanding materials.
8. Monitor library facilities and learning spaces and report maintenance, accessibility, safety, and operational concerns to the Director.
9. Develop and maintain library communications and digital content, including the library webpage, social media products, and other outreach materials that promote library services and resources.
10. Other duties as assigned

1. Campus events and student engagement activities, including but not limited to student orientation, Welcome Week, recruitment activities, and other initiatives that support student success, retention, and awareness of library services.
2. Service on institutional and departmental committees as assigned.

1. Actively participate in and carry out activities in support of the college risk-management program in a capacity appropriate to this position.
2. Maintain a working knowledge of the college’s emergency procedures and actively participate in the college risk-management program.
3. Monitor conditions, events and circumstances that present risk to the college community. Intervene and/or report as specified in the college’s risk-management plan.

1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in library science or a related field preferred.
2. Two or more years of progressive experience in library services. 
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and other related software is required.
4. Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and community members and be respectful to issues of student and staff diversity.
5. Ability to exhibit responsiveness to requests for assistance from students, staff, and community members in a helpful and timely manner.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend availability required. 
8. A valid driver’s license is required.
9. Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

1. Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning, and other office equipment).
2. General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (20lbs or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit.
3. Operation of a motor vehicle as required for travel to position responsibilities
