Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 4x12 or 3x12 Hours Available (19:00–07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a cardiac stepdown and overflow IMCU setting
• Manage and monitor continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion for stable cardiac arrhythmias including A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia
• Care for patients with cardiac conditions (CHF, chest pain, post cardiac cath), pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), renal conditions, DKA, and surgical patients including those with chest tubes and biliary drains
• Apply TR Bands and manage a broad range of med-surg patient needs, including occasional vascular, orthopedic, and CVA overflow patients
• Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed; respond to rare on-call situations with a 2-hour response time

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and experience with TR Bands required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Familiarity with SBAR communication framework
• Experience in an IMCU or stepdown unit environment
