Research Special Projects Coordinator

ATA is currently seeking to hire an experienced Research Special Projects Coordinator to work on a temporary assignment with the State of New Mexico Department of Health. Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour with weekly pay Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8am – 5pm Work Location: Remote, but candidate MUST live in New Mexico

JOB SUMMARY

The NM Health Helpline Logistics Specialist will work under direct or indirect supervision of the Epidemiology Hotline Director, Nursing Manager, and Logistics Staff to coordinate research projects on a variety of epidemiological and healthcare-related topics. The specialist will create and manage tracking systems to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion and with attention to detail. The specialist will also be trained on creation/management of the helpline’s call resources and will provide consultation, knowledge, and subject matter expertise when needed to best support clinical staff. The specialist will serve as a direct point of contact for Helpline nurses and EMTs to ensure their adherence to schedules and breaks, by providing guidance on the appropriate handling of various calls, and to ensure proper follow-up of Helpline calls which may include but is not limited to liaising with other NM Department of Health staff including Epidemiologists, or other state agencies or partners and stakeholders. The specialist will also perform data analysis and tracking tasks, including the creation of tables, charts, and graphics using Microsoft Excel or other analysis software. The incumbent will have a strong knowledge of and work experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook. The incumbent must have superior written and oral communications skills, including the ability to write professional emails using graduate level spelling, grammar, punctuation, and diction. An Excel data analysis exercise and writing sample will be required at the time of application. This is a fast-paced work environment in which the incumbent will be expected to work remotely with no on-site supervision, but with high standards for professionalism, accountability, and reliability.

EXPERIENCE

Ideal candidates will have experience using team messaging platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams, and the ability to multitask by monitoring teams chat while performing other tasks. A clinical background or experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred. Other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the DOH.
