Managing Member: Varies by Location of Interest Practice Group/Leaders: Taxation/Michael Cumming Department/Director: Business Services/Wilhelm Liebmann Key Qualifications Dykema, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Fiduciary Accounting and Estate Administration Paralegal to join its sophisticated Tax & Estates practice in the Firm's Ann Arbor, Bloomfield Hills, or Detroit office. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, fiduciaries, and clients on complex estate administration, fiduciary accounting, tax compliance, and estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in fiduciary accounting, estate and trust administration, and tax return preparation, along with a strong understanding of trusts, estates, probate proceedings, and related tax matters. An active CPA license is required. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will support attorneys and clients in a broad range of tax, accounting, fiduciary, and estate administration matters, including: Tax Compliance & Preparation Prepare and review federal and state estate tax returns. Prepare and review federal gift tax returns. Prepare fiduciary income tax returns for trusts and estates. Prepare individual income tax returns related to estate and trust matters. Research federal and state tax laws, regulations, forms, publications, and related issues. Assist with tax planning, projections, and other analytical matters in support of estate planning and administration. Fiduciary Accounting & Estate Administration Prepare and maintain detailed accountings and inventories for probate estates, trusts, and guardianship estates. Assist with the administration and settlement of estates and trusts. Review and maintain financial records, transactions, distributions, and other fiduciary information. Assist with trust funding, including the preparation and coordination of deeds, stock certificates, and other property transfer documents. Support probate and guardianship administration, including preparation and coordination of required pleadings and filings.
