Hotel Valet Attendant - Louisville Marriott Downtown

Position Overview The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage, and delivering a welcoming experience throughout arrival and departure. Compensation Hourly base pay range: $10–$12 per hour, plus $5–$10 per hour in tips. Work Schedule Work schedule may include AM and PM shift times. Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet, use their last names and the day’s salutation, and practice proper phone etiquette. Park and retrieve vehicles safely and leisurely; assist guests with bell services and luggage storage; open vehicle and hotel doors when needed. Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and inquiries; provide information on outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions. Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures; issue claim checks after obtaining vehicle keys and collect them prior to key return. Maintain accurate ticket information, including key tags, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipts. Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when required. Shuttle guests to approved locations and deliver messages or items as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. At least one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of customer service principles and personal services processes. Reading and writing proficiency in standard English. Basic arithmetic skills with U.S. money; ability to operate a manual transmission and perform parallel parking. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems; ability to comprehend rates and adjustments. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work is performed outdoors for extended periods, often in extreme heat or cold. Physical requirements include frequent standing or sitting, occasional lifting up to 100 pounds, and the ability to run, walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
