Human Resources Manager

Valley Steel Stamp is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead all human resources functions at our manufacturing facility in Greenfield, Massachusetts. As the primary HR representative for the site and a member of the leadership team, this position supports both hourly and salaried employees while advising management on employee relations, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational priorities.

The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and comfortable balancing day-to-day employee needs with broader business objectives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers.
• Manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective actions, and performance concerns.
• Advise supervisors and leadership on policy interpretation, documentation, and consistent employment practices.
• Oversee weekly payroll administration and ensure employee records, deductions, and timekeeping information are accurate.
• Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, HSA, leave programs, and workers' compensation.
• Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, offers, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.
• Partner with leadership on staffing plans, retention initiatives, compensation, organizational changes, and succession planning.
• Manage performance-review processes, compensation changes, and employee development initiatives.
• Maintain personnel files and HRIS records while protecting confidential information.
• Ensure compliance with federal and Massachusetts employment laws and company policies.
• Administer FMLA, Massachusetts PFML, disability, accommodations, and other employee leave programs.
• Develop, update, communicate, and consistently administer workplace policies and procedures.
• Coordinate required supervisory, compliance, harassment-prevention, and safety-related training.
• Support workplace safety initiatives, incident documentation, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers' compensation case management.
• Monitor HR metrics, headcount, turnover, attendance, overtime, and other workforce trends.
• Support employee engagement, recognition, communication, and retention efforts.
• Complete additional HR and administrative responsibilities as business needs require.

Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with employees across multiple departments and shifts. Occasional schedule flexibility may be needed to support employees outside normal business hours.

Compensation and Benefits

Valley Steel Stamp offers a competitive annual salary of $85,000-$100,000, based on experience and qualifications. The position also includes a comprehensive benefits package, which may include:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• At least five years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in manufacturing or another hourly workforce environment.
• Working knowledge of federal and Massachusetts employment laws.
• Experience with employee relations, payroll, benefits, recruiting, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, Microsoft Office, and related business systems.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
