Vice President, Global Conferences & Events

Ares Management Corporation

Ares Senior Global Conferences & Events Professional Ares is seeking an experienced regional and global events professional to lead planning and execution of large flagship events. Responsibilities Lead planning and execution on large flagship events from initial conception to reconciliation, including pre‑event organization, budget management, production management, onsite execution, staff management, senior management liaison, and final cost analysis. Deliver flawless events, including pre‑conference meetings, overall event management, and stakeholder communication, working closely with the Global Client Solutions team, Investment Leadership, Product Management and other stakeholders. Analyze and articulate key themes, issues and risks to Global Client Solutions leadership and other stakeholders. Consider potential outcomes, make sound decisions, and serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders. Mentor and coach junior team members. Collaborate with the Global Conferences & Events team to research and plan event schedules that best meet target markets within geographic regions; support design, planning, implementation, marketing and coordination of conferences, roadshows, and logistics. Ensure an engaging client experience and achievement of program objectives by meeting deadlines and keeping stakeholders apprised. Partner with the Registration team on website builds, communications, RSVP tracking in Cvent & Salesforce, and report distribution to stakeholders. Take on ad‑hoc projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management (outstanding academic record). 12‑15years of proven events experience in a large, complex organization; financial services experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with Cvent, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Willingness and ability to travel globally (≈30%) and manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining high‑quality standards. Excellent communicator with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach; strong client service orientation. High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to determine when to resolve issues independently or seek escalation. Solutions‑oriented self‑starter who can see the big picture, handle ambiguity and uncertainty, and drive process improvement. Flexible with working hours to support collaboration across global time zones; ability to work outside standard business hours as required. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Requires up to 30% domestic and global travel to support onsite event creation and sponsorship activation. May need to work onsite in the office four days a week, with flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends during peak event periods. Must be able to lift and transport event materials up to 20lbs and stand, walk, and move between event spaces for extended periods. Compensation The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 per annum, with potential discretionary performance‑based bonus. Total compensation may vary according to qualifications and experience.
