Assistant Property Manager

It's Tuesday morning, and a tenant on the third floor is flagging a maintenance issue while an operating expense reconciliation sits half-finished on your screen and a vendor invoice is waiting for your review before it can go to the property manager for approval. That's not a bad day. That's the job. What This Role Actually Covers Lincoln Property Company is looking for an Assistant Property Manager in Dallas to support day-to-day operations across commercial, industrial, or retail assets. This is a broad, hands-on role inside one of the largest private real estate firms in the country, managing more than 720 million square feet across its combined portfolio. You'll work closely with the property manager and engage directly with tenants, vendors, and internal accounting teams on a regular basis. Core Responsibilities Include Responding to tenant needs and coordinating with building and administrative staff to resolve issues in line with lease obligations and company policy Reviewing and recommending vendor invoice approvals within the parameters of the management agreement and authorization limits Supporting monthly report and budget package preparation to meet client deadlines and accuracy standards Collecting data and drafting CAM and operating expense reconciliations in coordination with accounting Handling lease administration tasks including setup, amendments, and system updates Coordinating and documenting tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walk-throughs with tenants and tenant improvement teams Assisting with vendor sourcing, bid coordination, and procurement support Contributing to emergency response planning and participating in required drills Providing work direction and performance feedback to direct reports where applicable This is a fully in-office position based in Dallas. Property inspections are part of the routine, so expect to be on your feet and at the asset, not just behind a desk. What You Bring and What You'll Build The role requires a working knowledge of financial terms and concepts, including the ability to run basic financial analysis and calculate figures like percentages accurately. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected. Familiarity with AP systems and CMMS platforms is a plus, as is prior exposure to commercial office, retail, or industrial properties. Strong written and verbal communication skills matter here, because you'll be the face of the management team in a lot of tenant interactions. A bachelor's degree is preferred, though relevant experience combined with education is also considered. One to two years of related experience is the baseline. What this role builds is equally worth naming. CAM reconciliation work is a skill set that carries real weight in commercial property management and opens doors to senior PM and portfolio roles. Strong candidates coming out of this position tend to move into full property manager responsibilities, particularly those who develop fluency across lease administration, financial reporting, and vendor management at the same time.
