Pharmacy Technician in Katy, TX

An inpatient pharmacy technician position is available at a well-established medical facility in Katy, TX. This 13-week contract opportunity begins on March 9th and offers a rotating evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including weekends. The role involves direct support to pharmacists in the preparation, compounding, repackaging, and delivery of medications for patients ranging from infants to adults.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications safely and accurately, including controlled substances management.
• Enter patient information such as diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area to ensure correct medication dosing.
• Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during sterile product preparation.
• Verify medication accuracy to minimize dispensing errors, maintaining compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with support services to maintain appropriate medication and supply inventory.
• Ensure labeling and documentation meet established safety and regulatory requirements.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician license.
• National certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
• ACPE IV sterile compounding certification.
• Minimum of two years' recent experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting.
