About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers are accepted. License: State RN License or Compact License required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. Must-Have: Experience in telemetry and monitoring of cardiac patients. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with a background in caring for adult to geriatric patient populations. The unit admits patients from critical care and acute care settings. Patients include those who are post-operative from cardiac and thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, and other critical medical conditions. Nurses will manage patients with respiratory failure, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetic ketoacidosis, gastrointestinal bleeds, trauma, strokes, seizures, metabolic disorders, renal failure, hypertensive emergencies, sepsis, and neurological disorders. Nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1:3 to 1:4. The average daily census is about 21 patients in a 32-bed unit. Experience in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is essential. This role may involve floating within the facility as needed. Traveling nurses are expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. Compliance with onboarding and other requirements is necessary for timely start. This position offers a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary support services. Candidates should possess the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
