About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required RN license Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry competency Description: Minimum experience required is 2 years. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Unit admits patients from various care areas. Common patient conditions include post-op CABG, thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities, cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, and hypertensive emergencies. Telemetry competency exam is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4. The unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Floating to other areas within scope of practice may be required as needed. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday unless specified otherwise, with two holidays expected if three major holidays fall during the assignment period. Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time. All requests for time off must be finalized at the time of submission.
