Accounting Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $52k - $72k
Our client, a highly respected professional services firm, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support their Phoenix office. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Process accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements
- Serve as a key accounting resource supporting office operations and internal stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation and review of client billing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Respond to inquiries from internal team members, vendors, and clients regarding accounting matters
- Help ensure compliance with internal billing and accounting procedures
- Manage accounting-related email requests and respond within established service timelines
- Maintain accounting reports, spreadsheets, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Assist with tracking and payment of tax-related liabilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and vendor deposit reconciliations
- Support special projects, financial analysis, and additional accounting initiatives as assigned
- Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed
What you'll need:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Minimum of 2 years of general accounting, payroll, or related accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Experience working with accounting and billing software strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid numeric, analytical, and organizational abilities
