Proposal Manager

Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Transit OE Sales and Business Development, the Proposal Manager’s primary responsibility is the preparation of tenders/proposals to the customer and the management of that process until contract signature. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree is required; a technical related degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing experience, rail industry experience is preferred. Responsibilities Ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness in the preparation and submittal of the commercial proposals to customers. Ensure that the technical proposals are completed by engineering as required to support the bid requirements and submitted to the customer. Act as the key point of contact with customers, responsible for daily interaction with customer commercial and technical representatives during the bid phase. Support and coordinate proposal activity with other Wabtec product lines. Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions. Prepare financial analysis, risk analysis and win strategies for bids. Prepare Tender Review packages for bids for approval by senior management. Ensure that the documentation associated with a bid is managed in a systematic way so that it may be handed over to the project manager at the appropriate time. Ensure that the activities associated with the proposal are followed in accordance with ISO/IRIS standards. Prepare market analysis of opportunities and strategies to win future business. Track and organize competitive sales/marketing data. Additional Information Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met. Remote work will be considered, but relocation is preferred. Proficiency in French is preferred, though not required.
