SQL Report Developer

Job Title: Technical Application Support Analyst (SQL / AS400) Type: Contract-to-Hire Position Summary Our amazing client is looking for a technically skilled Technical Application Support Analyst to help support and improve core operational systems, including invoicing platforms, reporting tools, and enterprise applications within a dynamic production-focused organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong SQL capabilities, experience working with enterprise systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. The position involves a mix of application support, reporting development, and system optimization. The successful candidate will collaborate with both business stakeholders and IT team members to streamline processes, enhance data reporting, and ensure stability across multiple interconnected systems. Experience with platforms such as AS400/iSeries, JD Edwards, and document/output management tools is highly valuable. This is a high-impact position within a small, fast-moving team, where initiative, adaptability, and ownership are essential. Core Responsibilities Provide ongoing support for business-critical systems related to billing, reporting, and operations Write and refine SQL queries to support reporting needs, data analysis, and issue resolution Develop and maintain reports using a combination of SQL-based tools and reporting platforms Assist with integrations and document generation processes for invoicing systems Support and maintain AS400 / iSeries environments and related applications Manage and troubleshoot document output processes, including invoice and payment generation Maintain PDF and imaging systems used for document storage and processing Perform basic server support tasks including monitoring and troubleshooting system issues Create and maintain scripts (batch, PowerShell, or Java-based) to automate routine tasks Partner with business teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency Investigate and resolve production issues while documenting solutions and procedures Provide support for JD Edwards (JDE) systems and related integrations as needed Contribute to efforts aimed at improving legacy systems, workflows, and reporting capabilities Required Skills & Experience Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, and data manipulation Experience with reporting tools such as Showcase Query, Report Writer, or similar Hands‑on experience working with AS400 / iSeries systems Scripting experience with tools such as PowerShell, batch scripting, or Java utilities Background supporting enterprise applications, especially invoicing or document management systems Solid troubleshooting skills across applications, data, and basic infrastructure Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new systems and technologies Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business users Preferred Background Familiarity with ACOM integrations and form configuration Experience with enterprise document/output platforms such as Inspire Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments Exposure to server or infrastructure support Knowledge of document imaging systems and PDF management tools Additional Information This opportunity is within a collaborative, lean team environment where individuals are expected to take initiative and contribute across multiple technical areas.
