Position Summary The Ops Supervisor assists the Ops Manager/Sr. Ops Manager with the operations and personnel for a shift of a particular location. The Operations Supervisor may have supervisory duties of employees on a shift, including but not limited to: Technicians-In-Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Service Employees. The Operations Supervisor must be able to accomplish results and ensure business objectives and labor requirements are met. The Ops Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the customers\' needs are being met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety and asset targets against the requirements of the business. This position is responsible for the management of the location performance against metrics to meet and/or exceed assigned objectives. The Ops Supervisor will be cross functionally trained in order to be able to back up others within the shop. As with all Ryder shop positions, the Ops Supervisor, or the Shift Supervisor, is responsible for adhering to all Ryder Maintenance Operations policies and procedures. Shop Details Shop Location: South Plainfield, NJ Hours: 1:00pm - 11:00pm Schedule: Monday - Friday Salary - Bonus Eligible Essential Functions Workflow Management: Responsible for work analysis, planning and scheduling, assigning work to technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings, and RO review and approval. Ensures all warranty policies and procedures are executed. Triage of unscheduled customer drive-ins, and communication with customers and assigning work to technicians as appropriate. Conduct yard checks to ensure proper work scheduling and prioritization. Labor Management: Provides management, training and development of all personnel assigned. Responsible for Performance Management of all assigned personnel. Customer Management: Manages customer relationships to include issue resolutions, customer satisfaction and retention, and ensuring vehicle uptime. Maintains customer communication protocol for PM scheduling & follow-up, breakdowns, and vehicle status updates. Conducts customer visits as required by the Customer Care Plan. Asset Management: Directs direct reports in maintaining appearance and maintenance of the location, sustaining 65 standards in shop areas. Recommends shop tooling and equipment needs. Assists in vehicle specifications and in-service/out-service processes. Ensures vehicles have required specifications in SAM. Manages Parts Inventory and related policies and procedures. Quality Management: Performs quality inspections of PM & repairs, conducts In-Process Reviews of non-PM work, performs root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensures cleanliness and quality of repairs, coordinates with the Service Manager on training and qualification of technicians, and prioritizes TOPS plans based on breakdown, rework and running cost trends. Maintains documentation to meet requirements and ensures safety and EPA compliance. Financial Management: Ensures shift/shop delivers against net maintenance cost per unit while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. Manages budget-driven cost controls, payroll, PO approvals, invoice and fuel reconciliation, and bill-back processes. Ensures data integrity in the Shop Management Online system. Additional responsibilities, as assigned. Skills and Abilities Ability to professionally represent Ryder and interact with customer management Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge (preferred) Microsoft Office intermediate preferred Qualifications H.S. diploma/GED required Associate\'s degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required. Demonstrated success in a Ryder role may be substituted for this requirement Bachelor\'s degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
