In our Central Sterile Processing Department , you'll handle the decontamination, assembly, and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies which is the foundation of safe patient care. Shift differentials (when eligible): Evenings: +10% Nights: +20% Weekends: +15% Responsibilities
- Unloads Instrumentation and Cart washers, dry and put away items as needed. Reports any suspected equipment malfunctions to Decontam Pod Leader & CSR Leaders.
- Operates all washers.
- Assists Sterile Reprocessing Technicians by restocking supplies, distributing supplies, folding towels, wrapping basins, clearing Decontam window, unloading Decontam elevator, replenishing racks, and breaking down case carts.
- Sends/ receives Trash Carts to/ from the OR when appropriate. Handle contaminated waste with proper care and handling techniques.
- Cleans and disinfects all soiled equipment returning from the ORs and satellite areas.
- Performs decontamination procedures following prescribed specifications
- Operates machinery in strict accordance with departmental procedures and manufacturer's instructions
- Assists in the disassembly of instrumentation and processing following prescribed manufacturer guidelines.
- Attends and participates in in-services within the department, as well as educational programs.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
- High school graduate required.
- Able to prioritize and work with constant interruptions required.
- Good communication skills desired.
- Basic computer skills required.
- The ability to be bonded at Hospital expense required.
