Family Matrimonial Attorney

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Family and Matrimonial Attorney to manage an active caseload from intake through resolution. This role is well suited for a confident attorney who can independently handle both contested and uncontested matters while maintaining strong client relationships and courtroom readiness. The firm provides a consistent flow of cases and operational support. The attorney is responsible for developing case strategy, negotiating settlements, litigating when necessary, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the legal process. Duties Manage an active caseload of family and matrimonial matters, including divorce, custody, support, and related proceedings. Conduct client initial consultations and strategy meetings. Draft pleadings, motions, stipulations, and settlement agreements. Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court appearances, conferences, and hearings. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all case activity in Clio. Provide timely updates and clear communication to clients. Collaborate with supervising attorneys on complex legal issues. Meet biweekly with assigned legal assistant or paralegal to review case progress and upcoming deadlines. Attend required CLEs and participate in internal training. Maintain high client satisfaction and professional standards. Requirements Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in New York and in good standing. 3 to 5 years of family or matrimonial law experience. Strong litigation and negotiation skills. Ability to manage a high volume caseload efficiently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
