Transportation ManagerThe Transportation Manager is responsible for vehicle operations, drivers and the movement of donated goods through the Goodwill System. Provide a clean, safe, organized warehouse as a clearing hub for donated goods. Responsible for daily scheduling and monitoring driver's activities.Minimum Qualifications:Education - Technical, Trade or Vocational School Degree or 6 years of management experience or 4 years functional experience requiredExperience - Minimum of 3 years prior supervisory experience, preferably in waste, logistics, or transportationLicensure, Certification, and/or Registration - CDLOther - Knowledge of FMCSA/ DOT regulations and complianceKnowledge of proper safety practicesKnowledge of minor truck maintenanceAbility to drive and train driversAbility to organize and maintain a safe, orderly warehouseAbility to direct workflowAccountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of service delivery.Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.Able to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to work flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidaysJob DutiesEssential Duties - % of TimeDirect Daily activities of truck driversParticipates in daily planning of staffing levels to assure best coverage to move store inventory, salvage, As-Is and trash through Goodwill systemResponsible for training driversMeet daily requirements as routedDrive when neededTroubleshoots vehicle problemsMaintains require documentationInterviews, hires, prepare employee documentation as appropriateServes as the liaison between Goodwill Industries and clientsEnsures that staffing, revenue, budgets and financial performance are in accordance with business goals.May be required to travel to other stores on an as-needed basis.Other duties may be assigned - 100Supervisory/Decision making AuthorityDoes the position require customary supervision and management of at least 2 or more full-time employees?
