As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and respond to security-related concerns. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeThur05:45 PM - 06:00 AMSat05:45 AM - 06:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and report unusual activity or policy violations. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notifying appropriate personnel. Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and maintain required documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures. Minimum Requirements: An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
