Motor Coach Operator/Driver
The Department of Facilities and Construction Management at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Motor Coach Operator/Driver. Motor Coach Operator/Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers using a motor coach or similar vehicle.
Examples of duties include:
- Operate all University vehicles safely and efficiently, following specific regularly scheduled routes, charter routes and respond to request from dispatch or management for unscheduled pickups or drop-offs.
- Use correct safety procedures to operate lift, secure wheelchair and other assistive devices.
- Make timely reports of accidents. incidents, and unusual occurrences.
- Must comply with all provisions of Mississippi Department of Transportation regulations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and perform other expanded and/or related duties as assigned.
Typical qualifications include:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two (2) years motor coach, school bus or large vehicle experience.
- Must possess a valid Class "B" or Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age with a satisfactory driving record.
- Under direct supervision, the incumbent will safely operate transportation vehicles (automobiles, buses, vans and trucks) as required to transport passengers and deliver equipment, materials and/or documents for the University related purposes.
