Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• 1 holiday requirement per contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Schedule made in 6-week increments with up to 7 days of RTO available for approval
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3; team nursing model applied when managing more than 2 patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required skills include vent/trach management, tube/drain management, chest tubes, invasive line management (art line, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, surgical recovery, and medication titration (sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, paralytics)
• Preferred skills include abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, and IABP
• IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, respiratory failure, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cath, trauma (GSW, stabbings, falls), and neurological conditions (SDH, TBI, CVA, TIA)
• Department support includes charge RN, 1-2 CNAs per shift, bedside/centralized tele monitoring, HUC on day shift, RT 24/7, hospitalists 24/7, and intensivist 24/7
• May float anywhere in the hospital within scope of practice; travelers float first
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available in designated employee areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 91 beds total and a 14-bed ICU unit. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services including general/medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neurological patient care. The unit is well-supported with around-the-clock respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage, as well as OT/PT/ST services available during daytime hours.
